After two years of marriage, earlier this week it was announced Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai.
Neither of them spoke on the reason. ET reports a source claims the split stems from them two having different family values. In addition, the report says the estranged couple weren’t “on the same page when it came to “certain expectations.”
The source explained, “They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met.” According to court documents, Jeezy’s filing states that the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” with no hope for reconciliation.
It also revealed they’ve been separated and the “Put On” rapper wants joint legal custody of their daughter. Page Six points out that he and the television host have a prenuptial agreement in place.
The news of the split was a shocker to the world, but a day prior, Jeezy gave a hint. In an Instagram post, he shared a few photos, flexing in timbs, jeans, and an army fatigue-styled jacket. In the caption, he wrote, “Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.”
Jeezy and Jeannie went public in 2019. In 2021, they tied the knot and welcomed their daughter Monaco the following year in January.
Sending love and light.
