Jim Jones was involved in a physical altercation with two men in Fort Lauderdale airport over the weekend, with everything caught on cell phone video.
TMZ broke the news of the 47-year-old rap star fight on Saturday evening. In the video, Jones and the two men descend the escalator, but there is no clear indication of how the fight began. Jones tosses one of the men off the escalator as the other repeatedly hits him in the back of the head.
As authorities arrive at the arrival escalator to break up the melee, Jones is screaming, “They jumpin’ me, they jumpin’ me.” At the end of the video, Jones is escorted to a seat while the two men are restrained to figure out the origins of the altercation.
Jones yelled he was defending himself during the altercation after authorities restrained him. “I was minding my business and defended myself,” Jones told TMZ Hip Hop. “They got what they were looking for.”
The origin of the fight was never revealed. One of the men fighting Jones required medical attention as he suffered a head wound. Jones has not been charged with anything at this time.
Jim Jones was in Miami later that day, hosting an event at Taboo nightclub. Jones currently promoting a new track called “Brown Bag” featuring Ron Suno. The new single follows his 2023 album, Back In My Prime, a collaboration with Hitmaka.
