Joe Budden had some harsh words for Drake for taunting Sacramento Kings star DeMar DeRozan.
On the latest episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast”, Budden took issue with Drake trying to “intimidate” Dorozan.
“I’m not mad at him. He should feel a way. It’s never the conflict, it’s the inability to navigate conflict,” Budden said. “What he did with the conflict is where I’m like, ‘Ehhhh.’
“All that standing at the game, the ice grilling, the face, the mumbling under the breath,” he added. “We’re n*ggas and we’re respectful so we not gonna say it… but you a b*ttch! [laughs].”
Budden continued: “He went to the game and cut his eyes. Ooh, these are the duck lips of death! Talk about duck tales. Yo, don’t come to my game and cut eyes at me, my n*gga. I’ll throw this ball at you.”
The former rapper also touched on DeRozan’s appearance in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video.
“I think that Drake takes ‘Not Like Us’ really, really serious, as he should and I think a lot of West Coast people just took a West Coast pride in that song,” Budden said.
“I don’t think some people take that song as serious as him… Maybe [DeRozan] didn’t look at it as a crossing of the line,” he went on.
Although Drake and DeRozan were close during his time as a Toronto Raptor, things took a turn for the worse after the release “Not Like Us.” DeRozan, who’s a native of Compton, appeared on stage at Kendricks’s concert at The Forum in Inglewood and in the video for the song.
During the Sacramento Kings’ 131-128 overtime loss to the Raptors, Drake gave his thoughts on DeRozan having his number retired.
“If you ever put a DeRozan banner up ill go up there and pull it down myself….shout out to Kyle.”
At the post-game press conference, DeRozan responded to Drake’s remarks.
“He’s going to have a long way to climb to take it down,” DeRozan said.
Drake also caught flack from Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé who wore a “Not Like Us” shirt at Wednesday night’s game against the Raptors.
