Although Diddy settled the civil suit the day after it was filed, he denied Cassie’s claims, accusing her of extortion. The Los Angeles County District Attorney confirmed Diddy cannot be prosecuted due to the statute of limitations. Diddy’s apology, criticized as self-centered, featured a general statement without directly addressing Cassie. He expressed disgust at his actions, committed to being a better man, but his apology was dismissed by Cassie’s lawyer as insincere.
