JT has unveiled a new documentary, The City Cinderella Documentary, with a trailer that provides an unfiltered glimpse into her journey to releasing her debut solo album. Scheduled to premiere on July 17th, the trailer features scenes of JT’s life, from her release from prison to performing on international stages as part of the City Girls.

In the trailer, JT candidly reflects, “The person you thought you knew – that shit was all a lie. Everything that I been through, I just always overcome every obstacle. And I just had hoped, hoped, hoped that I get a second chance at music. This is a new chapter for me and I really, really, really wanna show the world who I am.” The full documentary will be released just two days before her debut album, City Cinderella, which drops on July 19th.

JT first announced the album title, release date, and its eye-catching cover on Instagram earlier this month. She posted, “City Cinderella coming….7/19,” along with crown and ice cube emojis. “Pre-save link in bio. My hands shaking posting this. Juvies we here…” The album cover showcases a naked JT with her lower half made of ice or glass, wearing a crown with a glass slipper beside her.

On July 9, JT revealed her plans for a 21-date U.S. tour to promote the new album. The tour begins in Kansas City in late August and concludes in Los Angeles at the end of September. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 12.

Earlier this year, in February, JT released her debut solo track, “Sideways,” which quickly garnered critical acclaim and became the No. 1 most-added song on U.S. Urban Radio. She celebrated on Instagram, writing: “Ahhhhhh! [three champagne bottle emojis] SIDEWAYS the number #1 most added at urban radio! & That’s because of yall & every PD, MD & most importantly the DJ’s! I’m so humble & grateful.”

In April, JT teamed up with Doechii for the single “Alter Ego.”
