A judge has just denied bail for Sean “Diddy” Combs, ensuring he will remain in custody.

According to TMZ, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, addressed the media outside the courthouse following the judge’s decision to deny bail. Agnifilo stated they will continue to fight for Diddy’s release.

Inside the courtroom, Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky said, “I thank your family members for coming, but I cannot release him.” Diddy’s sons, Christian and Justin, were present for the hearing.

We previously reported that the embattled music mogul had been eager to secure his release from federal custody, proposing a $50 million bail package to the court. His legal team didn’t hold back, outlining the serious assets he was willing to put on the line. According to court docs, Puff offered up his $48 million Miami mansion on Star Island and, for that final $2 million? He casually threw in his mom’s Miami crib.

Diddy was ready to play by the rules, agreeing to limit his jet-setting to Florida, New York, and New Jersey, with plans to chill in Miami and head to NYC for his trial. He even agreed to rock a GPS monitor, so the feds could keep tabs on his every move. In true baller fashion, he made sure to pay off the $18 million left on his Miami mansion, turning it into a get-out-of-jail card (or at least, he hoped). And as for the private jet? He told authorities he’d sell it, but for now, it’s grounded in LA while he soaks up the Florida sun.

Federal authorities, however, opposed granting bail, citing concerns that Diddy posed a danger to society and could be a flight risk. Diddy’s legal team argued that he had surrendered his passport, along with those of his mother and children, in April.

On Monday (September 16), Combs was arrested in New York City. Homeland Security agents reportedly carried out the arrest at his Midtown hotel, moving it up from its original Tuesday, (September 17), date for unspecified reasons. The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York confirmed the arrest was based on a sealed indictment, which included charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. The indictment detailed alleged “Freak Offs” facilitated through “threats of force” and “coercion.”

It’s worth noting that Diddy has pleaded not guilty.
