Julia Fox got candid about her former boyfriend Kanye West in a recent interview with The Sunday Times. The dominatrix-turned-actress and model discussed her 2023 memoir, Down The Drain, which details her early life, rise to fame, and relationships with rich and powerful men. One of those famous men happened to be the often-controversial Kanye West. Throughout the book, she refers to the Grammy-Award-winning artist as “The Artist.”
“I regret that relationship so much. I hate it! It was only a few weeks but enough to last me a lifetime. I was in probably the most uncomfortable position in my life and that’s saying a lot. I don’t want to be known for being anyone’s girlfriend,” Julia Fox told the outlet. The former pair met in early 2022, but their brief relationship was over just six weeks later. According to Fox, she wasn’t ready for the relationship to go public, and it had been done behind her back. In her opinion, West was only dating her to get back at his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
“I quickly realized I was being used as a pawn,” Fox Says
“It wasn’t my idea for it to go public. If anything, I was like, ‘We should wait,’ and then boom, it was done behind my back. I realized pretty quickly I was being used as a pawn.” The Uncut Gems star also recalled her many awkward interactions with West, including his controlling nature, particularly with her wardrobe. Fox tells The Times that West would arrange meetings for her with stylists to approve outfits. She also shared that early in their relationship (while on a date), a photographer was present.
Fox claims West later sent photos of them kissing and shared them with Interview Magazine. She also recalls a conversation where West suggested paying for a boob job, to which she declined. But it wasn’t until he demanded she sign a non-disclosure agreement, that she decided to breakup with West. She credits her son, Valentino, with giving her the courage to leave the relationship. “It was like, I can’t go down this spiral because no man, no matter how rich or famous, is worth one minute away from my child,” she said.
