The case of Jussie Smollett is moving forward.
The Empire actor/musician pled not guilty today after getting arrested and booked for allegedly filing a false police report.
A grand jury indicted Smollett on 16-counts for his initial report to Chicago PD, and the other charges are for his second interview with cops. The two brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo told authorities that Smollett paid them to stage an attack.
Smollett will now have to appear at several court dates. He also has to give a 48-hour notice to the courts if he’s traveling to NY or LA and had to check back within 24 hours if he’s in Chicago.
Smollett will most likely take a plea deal. The future of Empire somewhat depends on the fate of the case. He due back in court in April.
In this video, people are screaming “justice for Jussie,” what are your thoughts about it?
