In a virtual court session held in Sag Harbor, NY, on Friday, Justin Timberlake entered a not guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. Additionally, Justice Carl Irace suspended Timberlake’s driver’s license and driving privileges in New York. A lawyer conference is scheduled for August 9th to address the case further.

Timberlake’s arrest occurred in Sag Harbor on Long Island around 12:15 a.m. on June 18. He was stopped for failing to observe a stop sign and veering out of his lane. Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital reveal that Timberlake “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” had “bloodshot and glossy eyes,” struggled to “divide his attention,” and emitted a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage … from his breath.” He was described as “unsteady afoot” and with “slow speech” by the arresting officer.

The singer told the officer he had one martini at The American Hotel. He was following friends home afterward. He was taken to a police station in East Hampton, where he declined to take a breathalyzer test. Timberlake faces a charge of driving while intoxicated. He also has citations for failing to maintain his lane and for not stopping at a stop sign.

In a recent statement, Timberlake’s attorney, Burke, argued that Timberlake was “not intoxicated” and should not have been arrested. Burke criticized the investigation, stating, “The police made a number of very significant errors in this case,” and asserted, “We are confident that this charge will be dismissed.”

During his concert in Chicago on June 21, Timberlake expressed his gratitude to fans, acknowledging it had been a “tough week” but emphasizing his appreciation. He highlighted the special bond with his audience, saying, “You made my life so special. And tonight in Chicago, you have made us feel loved.”
