With just a week to go before the election, Vice President Kamala Harris is offering her closing argument to the nation for her candidacy.

The Democratic Presidential candidate spoke to a crowd of more than 75,000 at The Elpise in Washington D.C., where the January 6 Insurrection took place. Harris noted that Trump attempted to overthrow election results with his Maga supporters.

“Look, we know who Donald Trump is. He is the person who stood at this very spot nearly four years ago and sent an armed mob to the United States capitol to overturn the will of the people in a free and fair election,” Harris said.

“Donald Trump has spent a decade trying to keep the American people divided and afraid of each other,” Harris added. “That is who he is, but America, I am here tonight to say that is not who we are.”

Harris went on to say that her presidency will be one of optimism and not based on fear.

“America, for too long, we have been consumed with too much division, chaos. It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s time to turn the page on the drama,” Harris said. “It’s time for a new generation of leadership.

She also promised the restore reproductive rights that were overturned

“I will fight to restore what Donald Trump and his hand-selected Supreme Court justices took away from the women of America,” Harris said.

Harri’s historic moment comes on the heels of Trump’s Maga rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (Oct. 27). At the event, racist, misogynistic, and xenophobia rhetoric was spewed by many who spoke including the Republican candidate. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made several disparaging remarks about Puerto Ricans during his “set.”

“There’s a lot going on, like, I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now,” Hinchcliffe said. “Yeah. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

Following the rally, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and Don Omar have all voiced their support for Harris.
