Kanye West has revealed his favorite song from his own catalog, leaving fans both surprised and amused. In a video that surfaced on Tuesday,September 17th, his son, Saint West, asked him: “What’s your favorite song ever?” Kanye, after a brief pause, responded with “Fried,” before apologizing to his son, saying, “Sorry, I was closing my eyes.”
“Fried” is a track from Ye’s most recent album, Vultures 2, which also features Ty Dolla $ign. The song has Kanye delivering gritty lyrics that mix threats to his enemies with vivid fantasies: “10 bitches came with Dolla, they all dimes / They offerin’ blowjobs and I applied / They all starvin’, order them some fries / Then I lick the breast, then the thighs.” The high-energy production is reminiscent of the track “Carnival” from Vultures 1.
The choice of “Fried” raised eyebrows among his fans, many of whom expected a more iconic pick from his extensive discography. One fan reacted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “My goat doesn’t know his own discography [crying face emojis],” while another wrote, “Son couldn’t believe his father chose the worst f—ing song ever [skull emoji].” Another fan joked, “I think bro might’ve been Fried giving that answer.”
Meanwhile, Saint West has been keeping busy. This past weekend, the eight-year-old joined his father on stage in China alongside his siblings North, Chicago, and Psalm. Kanye performed the unreleased track “Everybody,” which features a Backstreet Boys sample. The concert also featured a remix of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” with Ty Dolla $ign on vocals. Held at Haikou’s Wuyuanhe Stadium, the show sold 42,000 tickets in just minutes.
