Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, reportedly turned to unconventional lenders for a $15.5 million loan. Reports indicate that this financing helped the couple secure a $35 million mansion in Beverly Hills. Lone Oak and Lone Oak Industries, its investment division, provided a sizable portion of $12.5 million. Richard and Lucy Glassman, business owners in the fitness industry, arranged a private loan for an additional $12.7 million with the help of a leader known for intervening “when the banks say no, private money is the only way to go.”
The Glassmans explained their choice to support Ye, stating, “When you have a total of 40 percent loan to value, it’s a good investment. This is the great creativity of the broker, it’s not the creativity of Kanye West, they do all the due diligence, I’m just the little guy. To be totally honest, sometimes when investors look at celebrities, they don’t want to do it. Well, it definitely is, because if they don’t pay, we get a $35 million property.” They continued, “But we would prefer they just pay, we don’t want to hurt nobody, we’re just investors. We want to get a return on our money.” The sprawling 20,000-square-foot mansion features 11 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a separate guest house, a swimming pool, a tennis court, and an extravagant waterfall, adding to its opulent appeal.
Ye’s Ambitious Vision for Yecosystem Expands Nationwide
In a recent social media update, Ye hinted at his vision for a major move to Beverly Hills, alluding to ambitious plans for his new property. Sharing an aerial shot of the mansion to his Instagram Stories, he teased followers with a cryptic message, scrawling the word “DROM” alongside the image. In 2023, Ye was actively recruiting project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors for an ambitious venture in the Middle East, aiming to develop a sprawling 100,000-acre property. This action followed his prior attempt to establish a private city in Wyoming in 2020, which state authorities ultimately rejected.
Referred to as YZY CITY, Ye envisioned a subterranean, hyper-efficient community designed to house up to 200 individuals, with a focus on creating self-sustaining, closed-loop environment. In 2022, West also sought to trademark the concept of a “Yecosystem,” a personal living space aimed at fostering this kind of sustainable, independent way of life. According to insiders, the rapper’s envisioned campus will feature homes and retail outlets emblazoned with the Yecosystem brand, alongside food and beverage offerings exclusively tied to the label. There are also plans to expand this concept nationwide.
