Kendrick Lamar reportedly turned down Drake’s offer to be featured on “First Person Shooter.”

According to DJ Akademiks, Drake initially asked both J. Cole and K. Dot to collaborate with him on the song- however, Dot was not having it. The offer is reportedly what inspired his “Like That” verse.

“Drake hit up Kendrick,” Akademiks said. “Now, if you think about this entire timeline and beef with that in mind, makes sense… I’m hearing that ‘First Person Shooter’ was a song intended to be with the ‘Big Three.’ I’m hearing that verses were reworked because Kendrick Lamar did not respond to the feature request.”

Drake nor Kendrick confirmed or denied Ak’s claims as of yet.

On the “First Person Shooter” single, J. Cole referred to himself, Drake and Kendrick Lamar as the Big 3. He rapped, “love when they argue the hardest MC/Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?”

“We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali” rapped Cole.

Now in response to the Big 3 claims- Kendrick raps, “Yeah, get up with me, f*ck sneak dissing/’First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches,” on the single “Like That” taking direct shots at Drake and J. Cole.

Do you think Lamar turning down Drake’s feature offer is what ignited the ongoing beef?
