Kim Porter’s father, Jake, has offered his thoughts on the footage CNN released of Diddy in a physical altercation with Cassie Ventura. Porter spoke with Rolling Stone by phone and noted he was “disgusted,” by the video. He went on to say that he wouldn’t even want to treat an enemy that way. “It was despicable…I couldn’t believe it. I was in Vietnam, and I wouldn’t do that to my enemy.”

That said, the video also gave the father a nagging feeling surrounding his daughter’s death. In 2018, the 47-year-old had been found dead in her LA Home unresponsive. It was later revealed that she died of lobar pneumonia. While Porter says he was never privy to any abuse toward his daughter, it did “make him wonder.” Porter recalls being around Kim while she was dating Diddy and says the video has offered him a new perspective: “I didn’t know he could stoop that low,” he says. “I imagine it surprised a lot of people. I wouldn’t even do a dog like that. My heart goes out to Cassie.”

While there were many questions the 78-year-old wouldn’t answer, he did note that while his daughter and the producer dated, she was the only “genuine” one. He also claims that Diddy is a “very jealous person.” He continued: “They both loved each other. Kim’s love was legitimate. Puffy’s love, I don’t know what he calls love, you know what I mean? I really don’t think his love was legitimate. Puffy’s love, I don’t know what he calls love, you know what I mean? I really don’t think he has any idea what love is.” Kim and Diddy dated for nearly 13 years before breaking up in 2007. The pair shared three children — Christian and twins D’Lila and Jessie.

Last year, Cassie sued the producer and accused him of rape, physical abuse, and human trafficking. Nearly one day later, the pair settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. The former couple were together for 11 years, from 2007 until 2019. One of Ventura’s actions was corroborated after CNN obtained footage of an alleged altercation between them in March 2016. The surveillance video sees a shaken Cassie swiftly moving down the hallway to the elevator.

However, it’s not long before Diddy — with a towel around his waist — runs down the hallway after Ventura and begins physically assaulting her. Following the video being released Diddy hopped on Instagram to offer an apology. More recently, Rolling Stone released its scathing exposé about his dark past. The expose explores allegations of violence that go back as far as Combs’ days at Howard University.
