The Alchemist and Larry June have more on the horizon after The Great Escape, according to the rap star on “That Good Sh*t” with Annabelle Kline.
The “Smoothies In 1991” hitmaker unveiled plans of another album with legendary producer while he was in New York promoting his new album, Doing It For Me. Plans of an upcoming new album with The Alchemist were revealed by the rap star while highlighting production on his latest work. However, the anticipated album with The Alchemist will not be June’s next album as told to Annabelle.
“I’m saving all my Alchemist sh*t for me and Alchemist new album,” says June. “Yeah, we was like, ‘let’s just save it.’ We got hella shit in the cut but … We already did The Great Escape and I want to make the next one, like I want give ya’ll everything. So he like let me just save that and save that vibe for that. Me and Alchemist got so much shit in the cut. But not for this album because I want it to be special.”
The Great Escape was released in March 2023 via EMPIRE. The album features guest appearances by Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, and more. It’s includes hit singles “Turkish Cotton,” “Palisades, CA,” and “Summer Reign.”
The Alchemist has created an award-winning catalog since making his introduction in 1997, that includes production for a wide variety of hip-hop superstars such as Mobb Deep, Nas, Eminem, Big Pun, and Nelly. In 2024, Alchemist has produced new music for Boldy James, Action Bronson, and Big Sean.
Larry June’s new album was accompanied by a three-part documentary, available now on his YouTube channel. Doing It For Me includes new singles, “Magnum P.I.,” “A Little While,” and “Three Piece.”
