Lenny Kravitz opens up about his 9 year celibacy journey.

“Yes. It’s a spiritual thing,” Kravitz said. I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live.”

This isn’t the first time Kravitz practiced abstinence. In 2008 Kravitz talked about not having sex before marriage.

“[It’s] just a promise I made until I get married. Where I’m at in life, the women have got to come with something else, not just the body, but the mind and spirit,” Kravitz told Maxim in 2008. “It usually trips them out, but that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m looking at the big picture.”

“I can barely believe it myself. But it’s beautiful,” he said, referring to his recent birthday. “It’s a combination of genes, self-care, hard work and discipline.”

While speaking with Gayle King- Kravitz confirmed that he is currently single. “Right now, I’m just open,” he expressed.

When asked if he was looking for love, he explained, “It’s hard not to look,” he replied. ”You know when you desire something you’re looking for it, right? But I find that when you don’t look is when you find it.”

“And I’m at a place where I’ve said this for several years, ‘I’m ready. I’m ready. I’m ready,’ ” he said. “I wasn’t ready. I thought I was ready, right? But I can say that I’ve never felt how I feel now.”

Rapper Ice-T responded to Lenny’s journey, writing via X, “9yrs without Sex? F that BS. Weirdo s–t,” the “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star wrote.

In another tweet T says,  “Hey….. If you’re a Guy and you can voluntarily go 9yrs without sex… You’re following the wrong page.” He continued, “S–t’s Weird to me….. I love to F–k. A lot.”
