Lil Baby is set to make his debut as a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.”
The comedy show announced the Quality Control rapper is set to perform on the Jan. 28th episode alongside Michael B. Jordan as the celebrity host. British singer Sam Smith will be the musical guest on the episode a week before, while Aubrey Plaza serves as the host.
This would not be the first time the 28-year-old rapper is gracing the SNL stage. In 2019, DJ Khaled brought Lil Baby out along with Lil Wayne, SZA, Meek Mill, and others to perform a tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle.
On Oct. 14, Lil Baby released his third studio album, It’s Only Me, featuring appearances from Nardo Wick, Young Thug, Fridayy, Future, Rylo Rodriguez, Jeremih, EST Gee, and Pooh Shiesty. The 23-song project, which includes his chart hitting singes “In a Minute” and “Heyy,” landed the Atlanta native’s third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. It notched 216,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. He also became the youngest solo artist — and the third overall — to land an entire album onto the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The “Freestyle” hitmaker was recently honored with his own day in his hometown. November 13 is now officially being recognized as Dominique “Lil Baby” Jones Day in Atlanta, Georgia.
