Lil Wayne received an emotional tribute in his hometown of New Orleans during his LilWeezyAna Festival on November 2nd. Mayor LaToya Cantrell honored Wayne by presenting him with the key to the city, recognizing his dedication to the community over the years. Fighting back tears, Wayne accepted the key as Cantrell expressed the city’s gratitude for his impact. Adding to the celebrations, fellow New Orleans icon Master P took the stage to announce the creation of a New Orleans Walk of Fame, with Lil Wayne named as one of the inaugural inductees. Wayne was presented with a fleur-de-lis plaque to mark this honor, which will be displayed on Canal Street next February. Additionally, February 6th and 7th will now be celebrated as Lil Wayne Day in New Orleans.
The festival also included a special Hot Boys reunion, marking the first time the legendary group performed as a four-piece since 2000. Wayne was joined by Juvenile, B.G., and Turk to perform fan favorites like “Get Your Roll On,” “I Need a Hot Girl,” and “Neighborhood Superstar.” The reunion was further heightened by appearances from Cash Money co-founder Birdman and producer Mannie Fresh, who joined them for “I Need a Hot Girl.” Their presence hinted that old feuds within the group may have finally been resolved.
Speculation is also growing about a potential Hot Boys tour and new album, with Juvenile hinting at the project earlier this year on Instagram Live: “Hot Boys is back together… we already started working on the Hot Boys album.” Fans are eagerly awaiting more news of this iconic reunion.
