In breaking news, Lizzo plans to countersue her former dancers.
Hot 97 had previously reported that the singer was sued by her ex-dancers for allegedly creating a hostile work environment and harassing them sexually, religiously, and racially. Following the madness, TMZ reports that Lizzo’s lawyer, Marty Singer, released a statement announcing that the artist is preparing to plead this case by suing her former dancers. Supposedly, fresh photos have emerged of her accusers “happily carousing” and “gleefully reveling” with nude dancers, which should help her lawsuit.
TMZ reported that the alleged victims attended the topless show because it was imposed on them. Nevertheless, Lizzo’s lawyer countered the accusation, claiming the statement is false because the dancers were seen “happily cavorting backstage” with the naked performers. In previous Hot 97 reports, Lizzo responded to the allegations, declaring, “Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.” She added, “Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.” The Instagram post concluded with, “There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.”
