Lupe Fiasco is making some startling accusations against Atlantic Records CEO, Craig Kallman. The Chicago native had recently stopped by Angela Yee’s Way Up Podcast. Lupe Fiasco tells Yee Kallman went out of his way to slow down rotation for his 2006 hit “Kick, Push.” Lupe says an associate of his informed him about Kallman’s plans. “We was spinning up,” the rapper began. “We’d get through mix show, getting into rotation, now we looking at power rotation.” Fiasco had been signed to Atlantic in 2005 but left four years later in 2009 over conflicts with the label.

Fiasco believes that Kallman didn’t want to let the song go national before owning the sample. He later alleged that Kallman reached out to the track’s creator to buy the rights to the song. The track “Magtaksil Man Ikaw (Bolero Medley)” was created by Filipino artist, Celeste Legaspi. “Why would the chairman of this public company make that decision so detailed for himself to call this little radio station in Chicago to stop playing this record before it goes national,” he says. “Because the same time they were doing that, they were flying someone out to the Philippines to find this lady and buy the sample.”

Lupe Fiasco Think Drake SHouLD BY DAME DASH’S ‘reasonable doUBT’ sTOCK

In other news, Lupe Fiasco recently shared why Dame Dash should sell his Reasonable Doubt stock to Drake. In Lupe’s opinion, the Toronto rap star would be the perfect individual for him to do business with. Lupe Fiasco believes the Toronto rap star will help maintain the project’s integrity. “@champagnepapi will keep it safe for generations to come,” Lupe wrote in a now-deleted comment to Dame’s post about his decision to sell.

“This is grail and influenced an innumerable amount of rappers to see it peddle such a lack of grace genuinely hurts my feelings a little bit.” The Chicago native adds, “But also on savages sht fck it…either donate it to a museum for safekeeping or seriously let Drake make an offer so he can put in where it needs to be. However, Lupe did suggest that maybe Dame should hold on to his shares if he’s having second thoughts. “Or just keep the sh*t OG you should be infinitely proud of this. Without it there is no me as I am and I’m sure other MC’s will agree,” he wrote.
