Mario is defending himself after a fan calls him out for only dating “white girls.”

The singer shared a screenshot of a conversation between he and a fan. The fan writes, “but you only like white girls.” In which Mario responds, “I like good energy and who loves me the way that’s healthy. Could be black, white, Mexican, alien… I dated an alien before it was great..”

The post shared by The Shade Room garnered mixed reactions in the comment section. One fan urged, “my fellow Black women to stop worrying about who some Black men choose to date. I say some because many Black men deeply love and appreciate Black women. +++++ Why concern yourself with those who don’t reciprocate that concern? Focus on those who value you..” And another comment read, “Most people missed the message in his response! Healthy love is priority!”

Aside from Mario’s personal life, the singer is reportedly gearing up to drop some new music. “This year’s ‘bout to be crazy as far as creativity,” Mario previously said about his upcoming project that is in the works. “I think it’s just gon’ be my most immersive project, you know, I’m saying in terms of creativity, storytelling, [and] musicality. I’mma try to do it all in one, you know? I think it’s possible. So I’m teaming up with some real wizards, you know what I’m saying, to really make it happen.”

“It’s time to raise the bar… I’mma get into some deep stuff, but I’m also gonna have fun and be who I am as a full spectrum,” he continued.

Mario has been buzzing since he VERZUZ against Omarion. “I had secondhand embarrassment because they were embarrassing themselves,” said Mario during the same interview. “It was crazy because a lot of people was doubting me so much, so I think the reaction was so crazy because they wasn’t expecting to be reminded of how great I am,” he added.
