Marlon Wayans and DJ Vlad have been embattled in a war of words online after he told him to cough up some serious dough for an interview. During a recent episode on Vlad’s show with Aries Spears, The Black Russian Podcast, he revealed Wayans charged him $40,000. The actor and comedian also requested 30 percent of all future revenue. However, Vlad thought Wayans’ price was a bit steep. The podcaster’s comments quickly circulated online, and judging by the reactions, folks seem to agree with Wayans.
“@MarlonWayans you a good one cause @djvlad would have to pay me 500,000 for a interview with 55% of all revenue made from the video on all platforms!” someone posted on X. Wayans offered a cheeky response to the post, admitting he was trying to give Vlad a deal. “see i tried to tell him I was giving him a deal… oh well,” he wrote. Vlad soon became aware of Wayans’ comments, and quickly hit back. “Marlon Wayans found someone with 200 followers to agree with him. LOL.” he said.
Vlad Says Marlon Wayans Doesn’t Get Views Like Him
“Nobody on earth is going to pay Marlon $40K for an interview when he gets 100k-300k views on any platform he interviews on.” Wayans responded calling Vlad’s negotiation tactics “unprofessional and silly.” He added, “If you don’t like the number keep it moving. You look BAD. You should fall back. mad at a Black man stating his number? And now you go public and use your platform to try to drag me.” Their war of words didn’t end there. At one point Wayans commented on Vlad’s appearance.
“I see why you don’t show your face it’s ugly. That ugly a** beard shit don’t look real. You look like you’re in disguise.” It didn’t take long for Vlad to hit back at Wayans. “Marlon Wayans, I’m sorry that you don’t find me attractive. Fortunately for both of us, I’m heterosexual,” he wrote. The media mogul even accused him of being gay and said he should “come out of the closet.” The comedian then shared a link to a YouTube video titled, “Why Black Celebrities Will Never RESPECT Vlad TV.” He later added, “This is why we don’t f*ck w/ you @djvlad you a lame. I ain’t the first but thus may be your last. We pulling that beard back today fella. EXPOSED.”
