As Marlon Wayans continues to defend other celebrities’ comments, he supports Drake‘s recent remarks about “real friends” at a Toronto nightclub.
He addressed his recent feuds with Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin’, The Weeknd, and Future at Nostalgia Nightclub. “People you thought were friends, or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up,” Drizzy told the crowd before playing the 50 Cent classic, “Many Men.”
On Tuesday (Oct. 8), the 52-year-old comedic actor shared a post on Instagram with the Drake quote, captioned: “This sh*t is soooo real. Fake friends, the works is full of them. I’ve been lucky enough to experience this. I know my real ones from the fake. And @champagnepapi all the great dynasties have lost the battle. Stay focused on the WAR. Everything is GOD. He gettin’ you out your comfort zone to find a better you. Trust the process.”
Before Drake, Marlon came to the defense of Lil Boosie, who was bombarded with comments by fans over the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker’s remarks about his daughter’s sexuality. A father of a trans son, Wayans refuted his fans’ claims that Baton Rogue was a monster for his comments, praising the recording artist’s unwavering support for his children.
On X, Marlon tweeted: “That man is [a] father that provides. I believe him, his daughter, and God will figure this out.” Wayans has become a huge supporter of the LGBT+ community since his eldest child, Kai, came out as transgender. He continued: “Give their family grace and time. This is growing pain. She know her daddy loves her. That’s all that matters. He may come around he may not. But that’s on him and her.”
Marlon Wayans will star in the upcoming Jordan Peele horror film Goat. In it, a young athlete is invited to train with his team’s retiring star, played by Wayans.
