Meek Mill’s perspective on Donald Trump has shifted over the years, and it seems that the chaotic events of the summer of 2024 have drawn him back into the political conversation. Known for his activism and work on social justice issues, the rapper recently fired shots on Twitter, sharing his thoughts on both Trump and Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice-presidential candidate.

In a revealing tweet, the “5AM In Philly” artist fired shots as he admitted that his understanding of Trump and Harris is largely shaped by media narratives and various theories he’s encountered. Instead of keeping his thoughts private, Meek chose to engage his followers in his exploration of these political figures.

“When I was locked up, I learned everything about ‘Stormy Daniels’ from TV. That’s when I understood the power of programming,” Meek remarked, reflecting on Trump. He added, “My ex has swung back to supporting Trump. I never really looked into Trump’s history; he even came to my neighborhood with OT7, got shot at, and basically shrugged it off. Got hit in the head, didn’t flinch. He’s been indicted, and he’s still running for president. Who is this guy, Trump? I’ve met some tough people, but seriously, who is this guy? Just my thoughts. I’m not endorsing anyone—I don’t know much about politics.”

Meek also voiced his interest in Kamala Harris’s past as a district attorney, a role that has sparked much debate. “I want to ask Kamala Harris about her time as a DA, even if she had to make tough decisions,” he tweeted. “I’ve only heard rumors about her… I’d ask her three questions about the imprisonment of Black and Brown men, her views on the matter, and try to help her understand the survival struggles she might never have faced.”
