Meek Mill desires to perform his classic song, “Dreams & Nightmares,” at the upcoming Presidential Debate

The debate, scheduled for September 10, will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Meek’s hometown. As one of the city’s most prominent rappers, he’s no stranger to representing Philly on the big stage.

“Dreams and Nightmares” became the anthem for the Eagles’ Super Bowl run in 2023, so perhaps Meek is hoping to bring some of that same magic to the political arena. He took to Instagram to express his desire, writing, “Let me do ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ at this debate lol.”

The rap star has voiced both admiration and criticism for the presidential candidates. He has been vocal about wanting to sit down with Kamala Harris to discuss her incarceration policies, specifically concerning Black and brown men.

On August 14, he tweeted, “[I’d] ask her 3 questions about black and brown men going to prison and try to help her understand from a survival standpoint… she may have never had to encounter.”

On the other hand, Meek has expressed bewilderment over Donald Trump’s resilience in the face of numerous legal challenges. In a tweet, he marveled at Trump’s ability to remain in the race despite being indicted, saying, “Got hit in the head, didn’t flinch. He’s been indicted, and he’s still running for president. Who is this guy, Trump? I’ve met some tough people, but seriously…”

Yet, despite his musings, Meek Mill made it clear he isn’t endorsing either candidate. “Just my thoughts,” he concluded in a tweet. “I’m not endorsing anyone—I don’t know much about politics.”

No official word if either campaign has reached out to Meek Mill for performance at this time. Meek Mill’s status among hip-hop’s elite was recently debated, with suggestions including Big Sean and Wale.
