Megan Thee Stallion and BTS are joining forces once more, confirming a new collaboration that’s got fans buzzing. After sparking speculation with a mysterious tweet on August 29th, Megan has officially announced she’s teaming up with the K-pop sensation: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook.

The teaser tweet featured a string of emojis: “🐎X💜 👀,” which quickly fueled fan excitement. Many fans immediately linked the purple heart emoji to BTS, with one user posting, “HELLO?? PURPLE HEART?? BTS???” and another excitedly stating, “BTS COLLAB ?? NO ONE MOVE.” The following day, BTS’ official account confirmed the news of a collaboration by retweeting Megan’s post with their own emoji sequence: “🐎X🦔(🐨),” and added, “Coming Soon! 💜👀.”

This announcement follows Megan Thee Stallion’s recent album release, Megan, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. BTS, meanwhile, has been on a break from group activities as members complete their mandatory military service in South Korea. During this hiatus, they’ve been focusing on solo projects.

The collaboration marks a return to familiar ground, as Megan and BTS previously worked together in 2021. Megan featured on the remix of BTS’ hit single “Butter,” which was performed live at a BTS concert in Los Angeles that November. Megan reminisced about the experience in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I love BTS, and I was telling my manager, ‘I really want to do a song with BTS, I don’t know what I can do or what we’re going to do.’ Around that time, they wound up reaching out to me and asking me to do the ‘Butter’ remix. So, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”
