Megan Thee Stallion remains unfazed by the backlash over her campaign rally performance for Kamala Harris in Atlanta. During her Thursday Lollapalooza set, she took time to reaffirm her support for Harris, ending with a spirited declaration, “Hotties for Harris, god dammit!”
The Grammy-winning rapper brought her energy to Harris’ rally, performing several hits and encouraging attendees to vote. Before singing “Body,” she said, “If you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for,” referencing Harris’ stance on Roe v. Wade.
Reactions about the rally were mixed. Some Harris supporters criticized Megan’s appearance as “performative,” while conservatives, often unable to secure A-list stars for their events, were predictably outraged. Republican pundit Matt Walsh suggested the right should give up on competing with celebrity endorsements, tweeting, “Please do not try to counter this by parading around a bunch of washed up or obscure entertainers that nobody cares about. That just makes us look sad and irrelevant.”
During her Lollapalooza performance in Chicago, Megan addressed the rally and these criticisms head-on. She stated, “They was fake mad that I was popping it for Kamala,” adding, “I don’t think they heard what she said.” Megan reiterated Harris’ positions: “Kamala said she wants a ceasefire [in Gaza]. Kamala said she supports women’s rights. Kamala said she’s tired of these high ass gas prices,” before concluding with, “Hotties For Harris!”
