Megan Thee Stallion Inks Distribution Deal With Warner Music Group, Remains Independent

Megan Thee Stallion has a lot to celebrate these days. From awaiting her upcoming album release and tour to signing a new distribution deal with Warner Music Group. But that’s not all: the Houston rapper will remain independent. 

Warner Music Group has taken a particular interest in Megan — not only has the company partnered with her for distribution, but she will also have the opportunity to remain independent with her entertainment entitiy, Hot Girl Productions.

The agreement will allow Megan The Stallion to release her forthcoming projects while WMG assists with services like promotion and global marketing. “This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter of my life and career,” Megan said in a statment to Rolling Stone. “I’m really focused on building an empire and growing as an entrepreneur, so I’m proud to take this next step in my journey and work with Max Lousada and the entire Warner Music Group team in this new capacity. I know we’re going to create history together.”

In regards to management, the rapper has been signed with Roc Nation since 2019. Newly made CEO, Desiree Perez descirbes Megan as a “trailblazer.” She continued: “This new chapter with Warner Music Group will shift the landscape in the music industry and empower other independent artists to follow in her footsteps and claim their power.”

Before the announcement, Megan released two new tracks, “Cobra” and “Hiss,” via Hot Girl Productions. The tracks set social media ablaze and even landed the 28-year-old star in a rap beef with Nicki Minaj.
