Megan The Stallion has opened up about what fans can expect from her upcoming album. In a new Interview with L’Officiel USA, the rapper says that her album focuses on a “rebirth” and the shedding of her past woes. “We don’t just stop at the snake. This is just what everybody sees right now,” she tells the publication. She adds, “Renewal and rebirth are the album’s concept.” Ahead of the album’s upcoming release, the Houston hottie has dropped three singles, “Cobra,” “Hiss,” and “BOA.”
Megan says the project’s snake-inspired vibe comes from her love of reptiles and how they’re often misunderstood. “We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes, but I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture.” She continues: “Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality. I’m not really a person that’s like, ‘Oh my God, sunshine and just super bubbly, happy.’ I like darker things…I picked the snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.” An official release date hasn’t been shared yet, but it’s expected to drop later this year.”
“Rebirth is the concept of this album,” Megan thee stallion Says
Along with the upcoming album, the rapper also discussed how she’s been mentally. In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion was involved in an altercation with Tory Lanez, that left her with bullet fragments in her foot. Nearly two years later after a lengthy trial, Lanez was found guilty. The rapper says during that time she didn’t process her feelings correctly. “I was the type of person who worked through everything. Like, Forget it. I’m going to just go to work. Fill up my schedule. I want to do everything. I don’t even want to think about it.”
She continues: “But now I’m like, Well, wait a minute. Let me take my days to myself. I do have boundaries now. The way that I love myself is so different from the way that I did love myself… I’m not doing things to make other people happy. I’m just all about Megan right now, and I love it. I hope that I can continue this way.” Aside from therapy, Megan says taking time for herself helped a ton: “Once I [started] trusting myself and being nicer to myself and setting boundaries, my self-love kept rising.”
