Megan Thee Stallion was scheduled to perform at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Saturday (June 1). However, it was abruptly canceled due to water main break issues. According to FOX5 Atlanta, the city has been dealing with the issue for quite some time. The show was initially set for Friday (May 31) but was eventually postponed for the following day. Unfortunately, by Saturday (June 1), problems with the water main break had not been resolved. The concert was again canceled, but this time it was nearly 30 minutes before doors were to open.
A spokesperson from the arena made on post on X to offer insight into what transpired. “After speaking with the Mayor’s office regarding the continued water leak issues affecting downtown Atlanta, the City of Atlanta is unable to accommodate the Megan Thee Stallion performance scheduled for tonight,” an arena spokesperson wrote on X. Megan Thee Stallion also hopped on X to offer her fans an explanation. She also noted that the show will go on (however, it will be a day later). As of now, the Houston Hottie is scheduled to perform on Sunday (June 2).
“I’m extremely disappointed,” the rapper says
“Unfortunately, we will need to reschedule tonight’s show at State Farm Arena due to the massive water main break that The City of Atlanta is experiencing,” she began. The rapper said that she was “extremely disappointed,” but for the safety of everyone she needed to follow the Mayor’s protocol.
Megan added, “Tonight’s show is rescheduled for THIS SUNDAY June 2nd, 2024. We will still move forward with tomorrows show, Praying for the people who lost access to water due to this situation.” The “Cognac Queen” rapper also made her frustrations known via her Instagram Live. “Y’all was acting like I could perform, and now you’re telling me, ‘Oh by the way, when we was trying to fix the pipes, we found another issue, and now some more sh*t is going on,’” Megan Thee Stallion said. “What! They’re playing with me.”
