Metro Boomin is venturing into the comic book realm with his own series, “The Metroverse,” debuting this week with its first issue titled “The Rise.” The announcement was made through a press release, revealing Metro’s collaboration with various talents to bring the project to life.
“It’s a dream come true, to have my own comic book The Metroverse on shelves,” Metro expressed. “Josh and Patrick helped bring my superhero vision to life on these pages with the talented Vasilis Lolos making it pop with incredible visuals. I can’t wait to share what we’ve created with my fans.”
Metroverse is an extension of Metro Boomin’s creative universe, following his chart-topping success with the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse last year. Each issue will be illustrated by Vasilis Lolos, known for his work with My Chemical Romance.
The first issue, “The Rise,” pits Metro against a villainous media mogul known as The Suit, who aims to control the city through fear and deception. Metro fights back with his creativity, magic amulet, and powerful beats.
To celebrate the launch, Metro and Zero Zero are hosting an immersive pop-up event in collaboration with Complex. Fans can explore the Metroverse world, purchase limited-edition merchandise, and grab copies of the first issue. The pop-up will be at Complex LA on June 13th, with the first issue exclusively available on ComplexShop before its official launch.
Metro Boomin The Rise #1 will be available online on June 14th, featuring 4,000 units of the standard edition and 300 units of the signed edition.
With this comic series, Metro Boomin expands his creative vision beyond music, offering fans a new way to experience his artistry and storytelling.
