Metro Boomin has partnered with the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation to launch the “Single Moms Are Superheroes” champaign that celebrates single mothers.
Metro Boomin purchased tickets for 26 single mothers, along with their children, to enjoy the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburg Steelers football game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday (Dec. 4). According to TMZ, the group also got to stand next to the Falcons players during the national anthem. The music producer did not attend the game because he wanted the mothers to be the focus of the event.
“Single Moms Are The Real Superheroes. Thank you @harvey.foundation, @jdsportsus and @youtube for helping me make this happen. Single Mothers know they got my heart!!” the “X” hitmaker wrote on his Instagram page alongside a video that recaps the event.
With the help of the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, this campaign began earlier this year. 150 parents had the opportunity to attend the Single Moms Enrichment Retreat and one mom was rewarded a $25,000 scholarship to further her study. “Our mission is to ensure the needs of the whole family are met and we know that the most important part of that nucleus is the mom,” said Sharon Page, who is the executive director of the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation.
This champaign is also a way for Metro Boomin to honor his late mother, TMZ reported. As previously reported by HOT 97, Metro Boomin’s mother Leslie Joanne Wayne was allegedly killed by her husband – who is not Metro Boomin’s father — before he killed himself. This incident happened in June.
The Atlanta native just released his latest project, “HEROES & VILLAINS.” The album features John Legend, Future, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Takeoff, Gunna, A$AP Rocky, Don Toliver, and Young Nudy.
