Michael Rainey Jr. Hopes To Produce New Music With 50 Cent After Power

Michael Rainey Jr., the actor who plays Tariq St. Patrick in Power Book II: Ghost, wants to focus on producing music, with hopes of creating a track with mentor 50 Cent, after the Starz series airs its final episode on Friday, October 4. 

He shared his future with TMZ on Thursday at a private dinner.

Acting remains a core part of his journey. Rainey isn’t abandoning Hollywood anytime soon. He is set to star in a new horror film, “Goons,” with Chloe Bailey.  

The upcoming film, co-starring YG and Serayah, marks Rainey’s first new role since he began starring as Tariq in 2014. The original Power series spawn three spin-offs, including Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force.

According to the outlet, Michael Rainey Jr. is particularly excited about working behind the scenes, predicting that his co-star, 50 Cent, might be the first to put his beats to use. Aside from sharing his career shift with 50, Rainey hopes the move could spark some momentum for his long-awaited comeback.

The mogul has been expressing an interest in returning to hip-hop for years, but last month, he mentioned it would be difficult since he cannot rap stupidly. In April, he launched his G-Unit film studio in Louisiana.

Power is headed to 50’s new TV network, 50 Cent Action, a partnership with Lionsgate. The TV FAST channel promises non-stop action, exclusive content, and popular movies and shows—all for free,

50 mentioned Power coming to the new network during his interview with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo on the Million Dollarz Worth of Game podcast. He also discussed Dame Dash, DJ Clue, Ja Rule, and Desiigner.
