NBA YoungBoy’s legal woes continue to mount. The 24-year-old rapper will reportedly be entering a guilty plea in the federal gun case against him. According to WAFB 9, YB (real name Kentrell Gaulden), had his attorney file the paperwork earlier this week. The rapper is also attempting to have his case transferred from Baton Rogue to Utah. After entering his guilty plea, NBA could face nearly a decade in prison.

The gun charges stem from a 2020 incident at a music video shoot of his. Additionally, officers arrested 15 other people present after police found several pistols and assault rifles hidden on the video set. The rapper is also dealing with a prescription fraud case. He was later held on a $100,000 bond.

Last year, NBA YoungBoy spoke with Billboard about his life, fatherhood, and his ever-growing legal troubles. While most people would have hated being on home arrest, the rapper says it was the “best thing to ever happen” to him. His legal troubles have given him time to reflect and even venture into something new: Mormonism. “It was just cool to see someone with a different mindset that had nothing to do with business or money — just these wonderful souls,” he said. YB continues: “Even when my negative thoughts come back, when I do want to tell them, ‘Not today,’ I just don’t let nothing stop it.”

The rapper also opened up about how his music has influenced violence, and what he intends to do to change it. “I was set on being the greatest at what I did and what I spoke about,” he said. “Man, I was flooded with millions of dollars from the time I was 16 all the way to this point, and I woke up one morning like, ‘Damn. They got me. They made me do their dirty work.’ Man, look at the sh*t I put in these people’s ears.”
