Boom, boom, boom, hot shit, Nelly is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut album, Country Grammar, with a performance of its entirety at Stagecoach 2025 Festival in Indio, California on April 26, 2025.
Nelly performed a similar set to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary in 2020 at Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. He would also release a mini-documentary and deluxe version with new tracks that year to commemorate the album turning 20.
Released in 2000, Country Grammar, introduced the St.Louis native to the world with classic singles “E.I.,” “Ride With Me,” and “Batter Up.” The album’s debut single of the same title would achieve certified gold by RIAA in 2005. The album would become one of the 10 hip-hop albums to be certified diamond by the RIAA in 2016.
Nelly ruled hip-hop’s toughest era ever with albums like Nellyville and Sweat/Suit, which charted at number one. “My era of music was the toughest era in hip hop ever … EVER,” said Nelly on The Shop. “When I put out songs, I had to go against DMX, Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Luda. All of us are fighting for one spot. So from ‘99 to 2008… 10. It’s the hardest era ever.”
He dabbled with Country music early in his career with the 2004 classic, “Over and Over” featuring Tim Mcgraw. In recent years, Nelly would secure newfound fame by submerging himself into country music collaborating with a variety of acts including Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, and Jimmie Allen. Heartland, Nelly’s first country album, was released in 2021.
Stagecoach is a country music festival. Other hip-hop and R&B-related acts set to perform at Stagecoach 2025 include T-Pain, Jelly Roll, and Shaboozey.
The 25th-anniversary announcement came after the entertainer welcomed a new baby with his new wife Ashanti and cleared up a recent arrest accusing him of drug possession. Tickets for Stagecoach 2025 are on sale now.
