Nicki Minaj Delays The Release Of ‘Pink Friday 2’

Barbz will have to wait a little longer for Nicki Minaj’s upcoming fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2.

The highly anticipated album will now be released on  Dec.8, the rapper’s 41st birthday. Minaj took to Instagram live to share the update along with two other special announcements for the fans. On Nov.17 Minaj will release the pre-sale information and official announcement to the Pink Friday 2 Tour.

She also announced the release of two fragrances of the same name that will be distributed by JCPenney and Amazon. The album was originally set to release on Oct.20 and then rescheduled to Nov.17. Minaj clarified the change was not due to her long-time collaborator, Lil Wayne releasing a joint album with 2-Chainz on Nov.17.  She said the two would never intentionally step on one another’s release date.

“The new album date for this incredible body of work that I am so proud of is on a very special day to me and to the Barbz,” she said in the stream. She attributed the delay of the album to the vinyl pressing not being available until the week of Dec.1.

The New York native last released an album in 2018, Queen. This album is a follow-up to her historic 2010 debut, Pink Friday. “So this entire album will be the biggest gift I have ever given humanity thus far,”  she said about the upcoming album.
