Onijah Andrew Robinson, also known as “The American in Pakistan,” has returned to New York City after making waves internationally. The viral star was spotted in Times Square on Thursday, April 4th, stepping out of a black SUV and telling her followers to “follow my manager, agent, and glam squad.” “I’m glad to be back in New York,” she added, expressing her excitement about returning to the Big Apple.
In another clip, Robinson reflected on her time in Dubai, explaining, “I didn’t go to jail, I was just stuck in Dubai. It was a situation that happened in Dubai that I couldn’t get over at the time and that was it. I was there for a month.”
The 33-year-old New Yorker first gained widespread attention in early 2025 after traveling to Pakistan to marry 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she had been dating online. However, upon arriving in October 2024, her plans were derailed when Memon’s parents rejected the union. Robinson’s 30-day visa expired in November, but she stayed in the country, becoming a viral sensation through TikTok and other online platforms.
Her antics, including demanding $100K or more and stating, “I need 20K by this week, in my pockets, in cash,” went viral. She also held “press conferences,” where she laid out her plans to “rebuild” Pakistan and requested “two thousand or more every week” and “more than five thousand dollars in USD” from the government. Robinson finally agreed to leave Pakistan, but not before making a stop in Dubai. She is now back in the U.S., continuing to stir attention with her unconventional journey.
