Pharrell is unbothered by Drake saying he’ll melt his chains.
During a recent interview with GQ, Pharrell addresses Drake’s lyrics. In 2022, P decided to sell his infamous chains, in which Drake purchased them. Drizzy showed off the purchase in his “Jumbotron S**t Poppin’” music video.
Pharrell landed himself in the cross fire of Drake and Pusha T’s beef as on Travis Scott’s “Meltdown”, Drake rapped, “I melt down the chains that I bought from yo’ boss, give a f**k about all of that heritage s**t, since [Virgil Abloh] not around, the members done hung up the Louis, they not even wearing that s**t.”
When P was asked about Drake purchasing his chains, he expressed, “[B]eyond all of the on-goings, at the heart of all of it, he’s a fan of music,” Skateboard P replied. “He’s a fan of the history of what it is, and I happen to be a part of that, and those artifacts are a part of it.”
“[W]hen he was rapping about melting the jewelry down and saying, “Come get his legacy out my house” and all that stuff, how did that strike you?” Pharrell was then asked.
“It didn’t,” Pharrell answered.
