Pitbull, also known as Mr. Worldwide, is ready to have a football stadium named after him.

On Tuesday (August 6), it was announced that the multi-platinum recording artist secured a five-year deal with Florida International University for the naming rights to their football stadium. The stadium will naturally be renamed Pitbull Stadium.

A press conference to announce the rename was held on Tuesday in Miami, Florida. The Florida International University Panthers, an NCAA football team, will play at Pitbull Stadium starting this season under a contract that extends until August 2029. “This partnership with Florida International University is a true honor and a testament to what we can achieve when we work hard,” wrote Pitbull on Instagram. “With determination and a clear vision, anything is possible. We’re making history together, and we’re just getting started. Daleeee, Florida International University Football.”

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez, is a Miami native known for his global music career. He will contribute $6 million to the university, paid in annual installments of $1.2 million. As part of the deal, Pitbull will also be recognized as the “Official Entrepreneur of FIU Athletics” and will have complimentary use of the entire stadium for up to 10 days each year, along with access to two luxury suites for every Panthers home game.

Additionally, his Voli 305 vodka brand will be available for purchase in the stadium. The contract includes a renewal option through August 2034 for an additional $6 million.

The Panthers, who finished the 2023 season with a 4-8 record, will host Central Michigan on September 7 in the inaugural game at Pitbull Stadium. It was not announced if Pitbull would be in attendance on game day.

Originally opened in 1995, FIU Stadium has a seating capacity of 20,000. In addition to hosting Panthers football, it is also the home ground for Miami FC of the United Soccer League.

Pitbull is on the “Party After Dark” tour with Lil Jon and T-Pain.
