It’s been reported that the venue — a warehouse in Brooklyn— was over its 3,000 capacity. While Sept. 13 marked the rapper’s 29th journey around the sun, his birthday luck must have ran out.
After the warehouse was evacuated, Playboi Carti hopped on Instagram Stories to vent his frustration: “NYPD SHUT ME DOWN I TRIED SOOO HARD TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU TONIGHT THE MUSIC WAS ABOUT TO BE INSANE I WAS OUTSIDE THE WHOLE TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD LOCK ME UP IF I GOT OUT THE CAR ITS MY FUCKIN BIRYHDAY WTF.”

The only clue provided was a vague promise on Carti’s website: “Album release date to be announced. Digital album will be available near the release date, no later than six months from April 18th, 2025.” The reveal was met with frustration and disappointment from fans. Even though Carti dropped the new track “All Red” on the same day, it didn’t appease many who were expecting more.
