PnB Rock’s alleged shooter has been ruled unfit for trial. Rolling Stone reported that the teenager accused of killing the rapper appeared in a Los Angeles County courtroom on Friday, July 26th. PnB Rock, 30, was shot during a robbery at Roscoe’s House of Chicken N’ Waffles in Los Angeles in 2022.
Commissioner Sharonda P. Bradford announced that experts determined the accused shooter, despite receiving services while in custody, is not competent to proceed with the trial. Bradford stated, “The recommendation is that the previous orders remain. The proceedings remain suspended, remediation continues.”
According to Complex, police claim the 17-year-old suspect entered the restaurant after being dropped off and shot PnB Rock in the chest and back. Freddie Trone and Shauntel Trone, the boy’s father and stepmother, face charges as accessories in the murder. Freddie Trone has pleaded not guilty to murder, robbery, and conspiracy charges, while Shauntel Trone accepted a plea deal. Another individual, Tremont Jones, has pleaded not guilty to robbery, conspiracy, and firearm possession charges.
The death of PnB Rock devastated fans and residents of South Los Angeles. Just hours before the incident, the ‘Selfish’ rapper posted on Instagram from the restaurant with his girlfriend, Steph Sibounheuang. Following his death, Steph shared her emotional struggle and heartbreak. Despite her faith, she hinted at contemplating suicide, stating, “I am 100% not ok. If it wasn’t spiritual I could kill my self (but then I’ll go to hell and my man not there) My man saved my life, throwing me under that table. I am. No one would be able to hand this. TBH, I can’t even handle this.”
PnB Rock’s tragic death continues to impact his loved ones and fans as they seek justice and healing.
