Pop Smoke’s mother, Audrey Jackson, talks the passing of her son, honoring his legacy, forgiveness and more.

Jackson joined HOT 97’s TT Torrez for a powerful conversation ahead of what would have been Pop’s 25th birthday. Through Jackson’s foundation Shoot for the Stars, she plans on celebrating Pop’s posthumous birthday.

“This foundation is committed to transforming the lives of young people through creative engagement, education, access to technology and inspirational, global experiences,” said Audrey Jackson. “We hand-selected a number of young, fashion desi gners and the results were absolutely phenomenal! We had to bring them with us to Valencia to show this collaboration to the world.”

Jackson also opened up about Pop’s alleged convicted killer being released from prison. According to reports, earlier this month, one of the defendants, Blockstar was released after serving a four-year juvenile sentence for his guilty plea.

Blockstar joined the No Jumper podcast for an interview regarding the case following his release. When TT asked if Mrs. Jackson has seen that interview, she explained, “I’m not tuned into that. It’s not apart of my world. I have people who will come and say ‘have you heard’? They’ll hit me up and say ‘ma you okay?’” she began.

“I felt a way when you just said he was being disrespectful because I’ve been told he’s been interviewing and being disrespectful” she continued. “I gotta’ let that go because that’ll eat me up- I gotta’ let that go. The bottomline is- your life is over. His life Is finished. He’s living but if that’s his approach to what he’s done, life is done for him.”
