As the latest guest on the Ghetto Runways Podcast, Pusha T discussed his longtime Adidas deal and asked Run DMC for permission to recreate their iconic 80s sweatshirt. Podcast hosts acknowledged Run DMC’s signature sweatshirts after reminiscing about 80s fashion.

Revealing he has been begging Adidas to allow him to recreate, Pusha takes a moment to address Run DMC. He says, “Run. DMC. Respect in peace Jam Master Jay. I’ve been begging Adidas to recreate that sweatshirt for myself and my brother. I want your blessing. I will do whatever I have to do. Ya’ll call this begging? It’s koo, it’s Run DMC. I’ve been asking to do this for so long.”

In addition, Push shared his idea for recreation, which would only involve minor changes. He added: ”So iconic. Trust me, it would be perfect. Perfect rip, I wouldn’t manipulate anything too much. And I definitely would make it gold standard, for sure.”

2014 marked Pusha T’s first collaborations with Adidas, the EQT Running Guidance ’93 and the Pusha T x adidas EQT Running Guidance ’93 “Black Market.” They released his third and fourth products in 2016. Pusha T signed a multi-year deal with the brand in 2019.

Rev Run, DMC, and Jam Master Jay’s image have been synonymous with Adidas since shortly before they signed a lucrative partnership with the brand in 1986. From the shoes to the tracksuits to the hats, the partnership’s history has provided hip-hop with several iconic moments in fashion and spans 40 years

King Push would also update fans on the anticipated Clipse album, saying it is complete; however, it is awaiting a feature. “I’m so excited about this new Clipse album,” he says. “It’s absolutely finished … Just waiting on a feature.”
