Pusha T reacts to Kendrick Lamar name-dropping him in his Drake diss track, “Euphoria.”
On the track Lamar raps, “I don’t like you poppin’ sh*t at Pharrell, for him, I inherit the beef / Yeah, f*ck all that pushin’ P, let me see you push a T / You better off spinnin’ again on him, you think about pushin’ me..”
During an interview with Vulture, Push and his brother No Malice were asked about the name-drop. “Incredible, Incredible display,” Push said. “Incredible display of battle raps. Listen man, Kendrick…”
No Malice added: “It was a master class.”
Push is no stranger to dissing Drake himself. The rapper dropped “The Story of Adidon,” and revealed to the world that Drake in fact had a son.
“You are hiding a child, let that boy come home/ Deadbeat motherf*cker, playin’ border patrol, ooh/ Adonis is your son/ And he deserves more than an Adidas press run, that’s real/ Love that baby, respect that girl/ Forget she’s a porn star, let her be your world, yuugh!” he rapped.
Years after the Pusha T and Drake beef, Push still believed his diss may have an effect on Drizzy. “Every time I hear a subliminal in one of his songs, it just lets me know how deep it hurt him,” he said. “Because it’s been four years now. And we still talking about it. He is. I don’t. I’m cool. But every time it’s a subliminal, I’m like, yes. It burns, It still burns. It lets me know. I love it.”
Push had no hope that Drake would directly respond to him at the time. “We should see. I don’t know what he’ll do. At this point, that’s contradictory. Would he jump out the window? And he wanna say I took it too far? Then he gon’ tell people. Tell the label. Tell J. Prince. My God. It’s a lot.”
He continued: “With all of that being said, it’s like I’m not interested anymore. I’m just really not.”
