Q-Tip has thrilled fans with the announcement of an upcoming project, adding to the excitement by seemingly revealing its inspiration, paying homage to one of the most acclaimed figures in jazz history.
The legendary member of A Tribe Called Quest, took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 16) to tease his upcoming project, marking his first release in over a decade.
“In my silent way, I’ll protesT for you to stay. These eyes will pleas my CASE…” he began in a handwritten note, referencing the late and great Miles Davis’ work. “My fingerrs… Sketch My [heart]… Acroosss Your face…. DON’T ERASE.”
“Miles n Me 2025 #miles #milesdavis,” he captioned the post, alluding to a 2025 release date.

“Wait! It’s finally happening 🙌🏾❤️. I saw you at play Miles Davis at The Public theater. It was life changing,” wrote one fan in response to the possibility of new music on the horizon.
“We need this can’t wait Tip !” another comment reads.
Just days before, over on X/Twitter, while thanking fans for their birthday wishes, Tip first dropped a hint suggesting that new music is on the way.
“Love you guys and thanks for the wishes,” he wrote. “Music coming stay tuned.”
When asked: “when you say Music…..do you mean all 3,” the 53-year-old replied: “3 but some title changes on 1 of em. No algorithm. A new seed has sprouted.”
In 2020, Q-Tip teased fans with plans for three solo albums dubbed AlGoRhythms, Riotdiaries, and The Last Zulu, affectionately dubbed the “all 3” project. His last solo album, Kamaal the Abstract, dropped in 2009, following a shelved release in 2002 after his 1999 debut, Amplified.
