In response to the recent arrest of fellow rapper Lil Durk, who faces murder-for-hire charges, Quando Rondo released a heartfelt statement.

The case revolves around the 2022 murder of Quando’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab, reportedly as retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von—a close associate of Lil Durk.

In an Instagram post, Quando reflected on the challenges of maintaining ties to his past amid his music career. “We didn’t get into this industry just to stay trapped in this street life,” he wrote. “We have families and communities counting on us. It’s time to leave all that behind. We’ve lost too much already. Forgiveness is heavy on my heart now for anyone I had issues with. It’s all love from me. Praying for everyone. Life goes on.”

While some fans applauded Quando’s sincere outlook, others were less receptive, criticizing the timing of the post, as it seemed tied to his new music release. Alongside these sentiments, many comments called for “Free Durk,” while others praised Quando for still standing strong amidst the adversity.

As more details unfold in Lil Durk’s legal situation, social media has buzzed with concern and speculation. Some fans are focused on the evidence, particularly the presence of an informant wearing a wire in Durk’s circle. In contrast, others have taken a more irreverent approach, using the situation to spark memes and jokes about his potential incarceration.

He waived his right to an identity hearing at his initial court appearance on Friday, October 25, at the US District Court in Miami, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. As reported by the Chicago Tribune, he consented to remain in custody until his arraignment in Los Angeles, California.

The arrest has had repercussions beyond the courtroom. The same day as his hearing, the mayor of Broadview, Illinois, rescinded Durk’s symbolic “keys to the city,” which he had received just days prior on October 18. Additionally, the city terminated its brief partnership with Durk’s youth organization, the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation, citing public sentiment and community response as motivating factors.

Though Lil Durk has not been found guilty, this swift revocation underscores the public scrutiny surrounding his case.

So far, Durk’s team has remained silent on the arrest. His highly anticipated album initially planned for an October release to coincide with his birthday, has been rescheduled for November 22, possibly due to his current legal issues.
