Quando Rondo has officially pleaded guilty in a federal case involving charges of drug trafficking conspiracy.
On Tuesday (August 13), the rapper, real name Tyquian Terrel Bowman, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana in Savannah, Georgia.
In his plea deal, federal prosecutors dropped charges related to cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, which drastically reduced his sentence.
We previously reported that Rondo was initially staring down a hefty 20-year sentence following his June arrest with 18 others on charges including weapon possession, drug conspiracy, and gang activity. But with the latest developments, he’s now facing a maximum of five years in the clinker. Next up is a pre-sentencing investigation, and he’ll find out his fate from a federal judge on December 12.
Following his plea deal, Rondo expressed remorse, stating, ‘I really wanna give an apology to the city of Savannah,’ according to WTOC. “And I wanna give an apology to my family and friends, loved ones and most of all my daughters for taking all my family and all my loved ones through this stressful point.”
On June 14, Bowman faced a whirlwind of charges, including conspiracy to break Georgia’s drug laws and violating the Street Gang Terrorism Act. The indictment claimed that Bowman, a Rollin’ 60s gang member, was on a quest for guns and setting up a marijuana sale in Macon, Georgia.
Fast forward to February 1, and Chatham County Superior Court Judge Tammy Stokes hit the pause button on Bowman’s local charges, thanks to a request from Assistant District Attorney Louis Annunziata. The case was put on ice due to its overlap with federal charges.
Meanwhile, last February, Quando Rondo made headlines for reckless driving and DUI related to a July 19, 2023 incident. He’s now facing a civil lawsuit claiming his driving caused serious injuries and racked up over $8,000 in medical bills.
