Ray J appeared to make a cry for help shortly after being involved in a scuffle with Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer outside rapper GloRilla’s BET Awards afterparty.
Taking to his Instagram Story on Monday (July 1), the “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” star issued a lengthy statement in which he revealed he’s “really at a breakin point,”
“To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore!” he wrote.
He added: “This shit that is happening is mind blowing. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality.”
“These chain of reactions are stemming from being locked in a false reality / confused about this whole life! — The shitt that happened tonight to me at the awards today was hurtful.”
Further, the 43-year-old alleged that organizers of the annual awards ceremony blocked him from enjoying the festivities. “I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see. It was weird,” he claimed. “Anyway, I left and went back to silence my frustrations. Flashing back to my every day thought of my life, the truth that’s given is a LIE!”
In a dramatic turn, Ray directed his attention to his sister Brandy, vowing he would “make it right” and “won’t let them get away with it,” though he remained vague on the details.
“THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! I FEEL BAD AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DON’T WANT ANY MORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!” he added. “I promise you I will be [free] of it all and the world can move on with what is real for me no matter the consequences I have to face on the other side.”
“I tried to do it for real last time,” he signed off, subtly mentioning he was on his way out of the country.
The statement follows a video circulating online showing Ray J and Plummer exchanging heated words across a large entourage. While security tried to intervene, the singer persisted, grabbing his bag and attempting to approach Plummer from another angle. After a few cries from friends, Ray returned to his vehicle and drove off. It’s unclear what Ray J had in his backpack at the time of the incident.
