Several videos shared by Ray J drew concern from fans on Thursday evening (September 12).
The recording was made after he was allegedly involved in an argument with his estranged wife, Princess Love, their mother. According to Livebitez, the “One Wish” hitmaker appeared to try to defuse the situation by speaking to his children.
In the recording, Ray J is heard reassuring his son Epik, saying, “Dada never did nothing to nobody. Mama never did nothing to me, dada never did nothing to mama, right?” He then asks his son if “everything is safe,” and adds, “Have dada put hands on mama, or mama put hands on dada? No, right? Okay, so there’s no reason to call the police. We’re just making a movie. We’re just playing, okay?”
As the conversation continues, Epik asks if they can go to Ray J’s house, to which Ray J agrees, but not before making sure “everything is safe here with Melody and everybody.” He adds, “But nothing crazy has happened. I got it all on tape.”
At this point, Melody enters the room and begins crying loudly, calling out for her brother. Ray J tries to comfort her, saying, “Everything is okay” and reassuring her that he and Princess Love still care for each other. “It was just pretend, okay baby?” he tells her, attempting to calm the situation. He then asks Epik to let their mother know he’s going with Ray J, to ensure she understands what’s happening.
As the video nears its end, Ray asks his children to apologize to their mother on his behalf. One of the children says, “Mama wants to take your hug,” to which Ray J responds, “Then everything’s okay? Alright, cool,” before the recording concludes.
Ray J’s interaction with his children sparked concerns among fans, with accusing him of coaching them. The post was flooded with comments that questioned the nature of the conversation and expressed concern for the kids’ well-being.
Princess Love and Ray J divorced earlier this year, after a tumultuous relationship that included multiple divorce filings. No word if their divorce was finalized.
A video Ray posted on Instagram Stories earlier in the day showed him picking up Epik from school. Despite their recent separation, the former couple appeared to be on amicable terms in June when they were seen celebrating their daughter Melody’s kindergarten graduation.
