RIOTUSA Wins Top Producer At 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards

Hitmaking producer, songwriter, and recording artist RIOTUSA earned “Top Producer” honors at the 2024 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards for the second consecutive year. His win marks another milestone in his skyrocketing career. It follows his production on two of BMI’s “Most Performed Songs of the Year”: “Barbie World” and “Princess Diana.” RIOTUSA has scored nine hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with four reaching the Top 10. He also earned two Grammy nominations in 2024, continuing to define his place in the industry.

RIOTUSA serves as the main producer and creative partner for Ice Spice, crafting every track on her Y2K album, which debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Featuring tracks like “Did It First” with Central Cee and “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” the album showcases their dynamic collaboration. RIOTUSA’s impact doesn’t end there. His contributions to Ice Spice’s career have been pivotal. He has helped her become one of the biggest breakout stars of the decade. Notable hits include “Munch (Feelin U)” and “In Ha Mood.”

At the BMI awards, he reflected on his journey, stating, “I want to continue pushing the drill sound into the mainstream… My production makes you wanna dance, makes you wanna go crazy.” He expressed excitement about his debut project, which is set for release in the coming year. He also emphasized his desire to leave a lasting influence.

RIOTUSA’s influence extends to collaborations with top-tier artists like Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and PinkPantheress. His work on the “Karma” remix earned Ice Spice the biggest streaming debut for a female rapper in Spotify history, and his contributions to “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His manager, James Rosemond Jr., praised his innovative style. He called him “one of the greats of the new era.” Rosemond also highlighted his influence in reshaping drill music for both mainstream and underground audiences.
